Ah, snow days. They’re just not the same as a grown-up, are they?
No more listening out on the radio at the crack of dawn hoping your school is closed or dashing out the door to make snow angels when you find out it is. Instead, you’re up late for work (bed is just so toasty), frantically de-icing your car and shovelling your driveway in an effort to be on time.
Then there are the problems that arise at work once you get there. You’re wearing the wrong footwear and you’ve forgotten your thermals, so you’re freezing cold and spending most of the day at the coffee machine. You need to grit the roads by the entryway but you haven’t got any gloves on so your hands turn blue in the process. You wish for nothing more than to be a kid again, carefree enjoying the snow, instead of loathing it. | ![]() |
But what if we told you we can make you fall in love with it again? With the right products, you can relieve your stress and be well-prepped for any blizzard or wintry spell that comes your way (but we can’t give you the day off work, sorry!)
Here are 8 products to help you to tackle a snowstorm on the job site.
Milwaukee 4939713311 Ice Scraper
Start your day off on a high by coming prepared with a scraper. The 4939713311 from Milwaukee is the perfect fit for your glove compartment or car boot and is your go-to accessory when frost strikes. Just turn on its LED job light for superb illumination on those dark mornings and evenings, helping you to de-ice every window and mirror on your car. Handy, eh?

TOUGH MASTER® high power pressure washer 160Bar 2000W for patio & cars (TM-PW16)
Alternatively, you can choose to de-ice your car or work van with a pressure washer. This method is superbly fast and easy to do, and allows you to put in less elbow grease than scraping (which is good news if you’ve not yet had time for your morning coffee). With TOUGH MASTER®, you can opt for using a wide-angle spray pattern for a deeper cleaning solution.

TOUGH MASTER® Pressure Washer Detergent Tank Bottle Snow Foam Lance - 500 millilitres (TM-S02)
Don’t forget your detergent bottles if choosing to pressure wash. The TM-S02 is the ideal companion for the TM-PW16, as it’s strong enough to withstand pressure up to 160 bar (as standard) and affordable, too. With a large 500ml capacity, you won’t need to refill it often, either, which is a big win for those who like to sleep in (including us, shhhhh).

Roughneck ROU68400 Safety Shovel
A good shovel will remove an obstruction of snow whilst reducing the risk of damage to utilities. Roughneck shovels are designed with curved blades to minimise this risk, which is especially important when digging snow, since you cannot see any marked utility lines (until it's too late). So, dig sensibly and try a safety shovel – you’ll only ever regret NOT using one.

Zephyr ZX40 S3 SRC Black Lightweight Waterproof Hiker Safety Work Boot
Sensible shoes are key in a snowstorm, especially if your job involves outdoor labour or warehouse work where the floors get slippy. Hiker boots are a great choice, since they are waterproof and durable, so you won’t feel that horrible sensation of water filling up your socks. They're also non-slip to prevent you from falling over and embarrassing yourself (we hope).

|
Makita DCM501Z 12V/18V CXT/LXT Coffee Maker Bare Unit
Coffee is always a delight any time of year (hello, summer iced coffees), but especially in the snow. There really is no better feeling than sipping on hot coffee by the window, watching the snowflakes settle. However, it's also good for keeping warm on the job, and what better way to do that than to use a battery-powered one which you can bring anywhere?

Milwaukee 4932471343 Winter Gloves
Working outdoors without gloves is like using a ladder without a stabiliser. It just isn't going to end well. If you want to avoid dry hands (and in severe cases, frostbite) then make sure your hands are covered at all times when out in freezing temperatures. Milwaukee offers great pairs of winter gloves in sizes M-XXXL, so you're bound to find some in your size. No excuses, then!

|
TOUGH MASTER® Industrial Ceramic Fan Heater 2800W (TM-CFH283)
Where would we be without a heater in the winter? About as frozen as the icicles covering our garden sheds, probably. While you might spend your work day fantasising about that electric heater in your living room, why not use an industrial one in the meantime? It'll amp up the heat in an area of up to 40m2, providing immediate warmth to the job site. Could you ask for more?

Now that you're snow-ready...
...It's time to get working outdoors! But no snowball fights on the job site. Well, unless your boss starts one, then it's only self-defence.
