When 6-year-old Formula 1 fan and professional racer Max Michalski asked us to sponsor him so that he could continue to compete in the 2023 season, it was an offer we couldn't refuse!

Young Max has already had a great start in his short career, competing in the BKC (Bambino Karting Championship) as well as his local races, 'Rookie Racing' and 'Fulbeck Sprint Series IKR' in 2022. He even won the cup for the most developmental driver of the BKC, which is one of his proudest achievements. However, his first professional season taught him a very adult lesson about just how much it can cost to compete nationally, with registration fees, engine servicing, travel costs and many other expenses to pay that have set him back for this year.

But thanks to businesses like us, he'll be on the tracks again for 2023, competing and doing what he loves, with the hope of one day driving around the Formula 1 track on every TV screen around the world, just like his idol Max Verstappen.

Dreaming big

Before becoming the next best Max in motorsport racing, Max would like to gain more experience and confidence behind the wheel.

He's currently racing in Iame M1 Bambino class for 5-7-year-olds, where he's training for the championship. Max hopes to do even better in his races this year by scoring higher on leaderboards, beating his personal records and becoming more competitive (although, he is already pretty competitive by nature!). To do so, he'll need to keep his schedule clear for the BKC in 2023.

Here's the full BKC calendar for 2023, where he's hoping to race:

Round 1: Warden Law, 18th-19th March

Round 2: Rowrah, 15th-16th April

Round 3: Llandow, 13th-14th May

Round 4: Fulbeck, 8th-9th July

Round 5: Clay Pigeon, 29th-30th July

Round 6: Whilton Mill (Max's home track), 9th-10th September

How much will it cost?

The total cost for the BKC season is £4,949.

This includes a £99 registration fee, a £650 engine service, £400 for spare parts, race entry fees of £175 each round, £120 in fuel costs, £720 hotel and food expenses, practice sessions at £70 per round, new tyres (slicks and wets; a first set for 1-3 rounds, second for 4-6 rounds, totalling £560), £75 engine setup per round and frame-checking before a race, at £80 per round.

As you can see, this can get rather costly without a bit of help.
