You can enter on either Instagram or Facebook, but keep in mind there will only be one winner overall.

Please note, our AVT jacket is available in size L only and cannot be exchanged, so only enter if you have use for it (or like a large fit!)

The rules

Our rules are fairly straightforward. All you need to do is the following:

1. Tell us in the comments of either our Facebook or Instagram competition post (to be posted on 24/04/2023) about a 'DIY gone wrong memory'. This could be anything from a time you tried to put up a shelf that looked wonky to when you attempted a bathroom renovation that resulted in a flood. Pictures and/or videos would be a definite bonus – please provide this via DM if entering through Instagram

2. Like the post

3. Follow us on the platform you commented/liked the post on

Here's our example entry for your guidance:

Before I became a carpenter, I tried my hand at becoming an electrician. After qualifying I got a little too confident and thought I could save myself some money by rewiring my kitchen myself, since I wanted to move the washing machine from next to the oven to beside the sink.

And the result? Let's just say, after accidentally cutting through live wires and having a minor stint in A&E, my career goals were never the same again. You can bet I got an experienced electrician to finish the job in the end!

• You are aged 18 or over

• You are living in the UK with a UK delivery address

• You are the original owner of your Instagram/Facebook account

Please note that applying on both Facebook and Instagram will count as one entry only, even if you use two different anecdotes. While we would love to hear more about your laugh-out-loud attempts at DIY projects, we'd like to keep the competition fair, with equal chances for all.

What's more, comments without a photo or video will still count, however, we highly recommend including a visual if you'd like to stand out from the crowd!

Any comments received after this time will not be considered for the giveaway.

We'll announce the winner on both Facebook and Instagram on 28/04/2023. You'll also receive a DM from us on the platform we received your entry if you are the winner, so do keep an eye on your message requests once you've shared your memory with us.
