Halloween is just around the corner, grisly ghouls and goblins are on the loose this Hallows Eve - well at least kids running around dressed up as them.

But the truly scary characters come from the stories of horror we revisit every year.

The real question is, what could these Halloween villains have used to increase their chances of success?

Dracula – “I vant to suck yer blood”

The character of Dracula is a Halloween classic, though films like ‘Twilight’ have made vampires more sexy than scary, this particular Count is still used as a spooky story. Though he does have a few weaknesses that make him a little too easy to beat.

Bram stroker’s Dracula is a lot more powerful than other later representations, like that of the lovable ‘Hotel Transylvania’ version, in the book he could transform into a dog, fog and could crawl up wall like spiderman. However one of his listed weaknesses was his aversion to garlic (the only downside to being a vampire is not being able to eat my favourite food – garlic bread). However if he had had access to the DeWalt DXIR1FFMMP3 Full Face Mask he could’ve got on with his bloodsucking business without his allergy stopping him.

This Full Face Mask by DeWalt has ultra-low breathing resistance, which isn’t so much of an issue for the dead vampire but good for us humans, the field of view is also uncompromised with even peripheral view unobstructed for those late night vampiric stalking sprees. The filter efficiency is 99.99% at 0.3 micron and all of the respirator parts are full replaceable. If Dracula had this mask he would be able to sneak into your house even when you’ve had Italian for dinner.

Ghostface – “What’s your favourite scary movie?”

Scream! Yes, that’s the reaction I want from you this Halloween. But the film ‘Scream’ is also an All Hallows Eve must watch. Who doesn’t love reciting the Drew Barrymore phone call scene – oh just me? Ghostface is iconic for his cheeky attitude but also crazy violent tendencies.

Carrying around the bulky kitchen knife he uses is such a health and safety issue and must be a bit of nuisance. Maybe using the TOUGH MASTER® Folding utility knife would just be an all-round better option? I think the scariest part of this particular character is that it’s masterminded by two teenage boys – if that film took place today I’m sure the Lynx Africa would give it away. But I always remember thinking it must have been so difficult to juggle changing in and out of the hooded cloak and mask while holding a butcher style knife. A folding knife would be a much safer option.

This neat folding knife is one of the best in the UK it’s very durable thanks to the aluminium-alloy body and the handle is rubberised so it remains comfortable as well as secure – won’t slip out of your grip even when having a tussle with your victim. The blades are made with premium SK2 steel coated with a special rust resistant perfect for consistent slashing and cleaning, and if the blade gets damage or dullens with time it comes with 13 spares, 4 of which are made with black steel for an extra sleek look – you can keep an extra 3 blades on you which can be stored in the handle for a quick switch when out on the hunt.

Leatherface – *loud chainsaw noises*

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was one of the first ever slasher films and it’s main villain Leatherface with the rumbling chainsaw made the perfect nightmare fuel for any Halloween cinema goer. I mean his horrible skin mask is enough for my bad dreams – like please use some moisturizer or something.

But believe it or not the chainsaw in ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ appears quite frequently. However, back in 1974 when this film came out, chainsaws were a bit basic. Nowadays there is a lot more choice. Though for this murderous hill billy I would recommend the Makita DJR183 18V Mini Reciprocating Saw as a replacement for the heavy duty and very dirty saw he has in the original.

Makita has designed this Reciprocating Saw to be mini for operation as easy and comfortable as possible. The saw Leatherface uses would probably weigh up to somewhere around 6.8 kg whereas this little guy weighs just under 3.5kg perfect for chasing after unsuspecting teens. Also instead of the classic pull chord to start the old clunky saw, this mini saw has two different types of trigger switch – which on one level this means its more power efficient and easy to use but on another this means Leatherface can sneak up on his victims instead of giving them a head up from the rumble of the old chainsaw. There’s also a tool less blade clamp making it really easy to swap out blades for all different jobs. I won’t think too hard on what blade adjustments this killer would use – I’ll leave that for the scriptwriters.

Freddie Kruger – “You can check in, but you can’t check-out”

After watching this classic again recently I’ve never been so proud as to be an insomniac Over the years ‘The Nightmare on Elm Street’ reboots have got a little silly but the original still makes me clutch my duvet a little tighter before I drop off. Again, like Leatherface, Freddie could really do with an updated skin care routine.

Freddie Krueger only has real power in the dream realm and so all of his victims have to be asleep before he can in act his slightly exaggerated revenge on the kids that lied about him resulting in his fiery death. Throughout the film the now teens try as hard as possible to stay awake to avoid the true nightmare that is Freddie, waiting for them in their dreams. A perfect way to send them to Sleepy Ville would be keeping them nice and toasty by using the TOUGH MASTER Industrial Ceramic Fan Heater, especially with the winter approaching.

This high quality industrial heater only takes 2 seconds to start dispersing heat, built to be highly efficient whilst only consuming less power than other heaters on the market. It has a high temperature, is anti-corrosive and anti-scald metal meaning that it will keep those teens nice and warm while they nap without failing – the anti-scald just means Freddie can take all the credit for the injuries inflicted. It is nearly as powerful as the blaze that killed ole Freddie, it can heat a room the size of 40m2 so Kreuger could host a slumber party and take them all out at once.

Gremlins – “Don’t get him wet”

Ok so technically ‘Gremlins’ is a Christmas film, but I can’t lie, those little evil furballs still give me the heebie jeebies, I’d like to think it’s the perfect November film – a halfway point between Halloween and Christmas.

Gremlins, the film that made generations of kids wary of the scratching noise coming from any sort of heavy machinery. But you know what? I don’t think they lived up to their full potential. Don’t get me wrong they tried their best, they filled a whole cinema before it went BOOM! But if they had, let's say a TOUGH MASTER® high power pressure washer they could definitely have got their numbers up.

Not only is this TOUGH MASTER pressure washer precision engineered with a durable pump but it's very easy to transport thanks to it being lightweight and a reasonable size, you can also easily wheel it about. So not only could the Gremlins easily spritz each other with the quick precision nozzle to continue to multiply but they could’ve also taken it with them to the cinema and put out all the fires from the explosion, preventing their species demise. And maybe if they had a change of heart from their evil nature they could’ve used this pressure washer to clean up some of the mess they caused.

It's BYOB (Bring Your Own Broom) at UK Planet Tools and these high-powered tools can help even the most devilish of us. It may be too late for these spook-tacular characters, but you should take a look for yourself to up your chances of success this Autumn.
