A Visit From Max Michalski: Bambino Racer

Remember our young beneficiary Max Michalski, the 6-year-old competitive racer with a dream of one day zooming down the Formula 1 tracks?

Well, on Monday 3rd April 2023, we had a special visit from him and his father, where they showed off their awesome new merchandise; and we must say, it's OUT OF THIS WORLD.

Sporting our UK Planet Tools logo (get it... 'out of this world...?') on his jacket, bike, helmet and trailer, Max gave us a preview of what's to come in his upcoming races. As part of our partnership, he will be wearing his new gear and driving in his freshly decked-out kart in every race for the 2023 season.

Let's take a look at what we got up to on the day, as well as a glimpse at that new racing gear (because we know you're itching to see it).

How our day went

Here's a rundown of our schedule for the day, totalling 5 long (and productive) hours, plus a 45-minute lunch. We must say, Max was one heck of a professional!

10:00am: Max and his father arrives

Driving down in their van with Max's kart in the attached trailer, we introduce each other and brief them on our plan for the day. A few hours of taking photos would be enough for little Max on his big day out meeting his sponsors.

10:30-11:00am: Photo shoot time!

We begin to take pictures of Max in his racing gear. While slightly timid (he is still only 6!) he's a trooper throughout, giving us cool and confident poses that would give his hero Max Verstappen a run for his money! He's got our logo everywhere from his helmet to his jacket; in fact, it's impossible to miss!

As you can see, he's a total pro!

12:00-12:45pm: A well-deserved lunch break!

After a busy morning, we take a much-needed break to tuck into our lunches, converse and relax for a minute, before it's time to get back to work.

12:45pm: Back to the studio

In the Design studio, we play a warm-up game with Max before we commence with taking more photos for our shoot. We ask him, "Who will be in the top 3 this Formula 1 2023 season?" and "Who is your favourite Formula 1 driver?"

The prior proves an easy question for Max, choosing Max Verstappen as champion (of course), runner up as Sergio Perez and Fernando Alonso in third place. We think they're some pretty neat choices!

The answer to the latter question comes as even more of a breeze to our young racer, with a quick and much-expected response of, "Max Verstappen!" Max likes the fact that he is very fast and is super happy he won his last race in the Australian GP over the weekend (02/04/23), where he beat the likes of UK champion Lewis Hamilton for the top spot.

01:15pm: The kart gets the spotlight

We head outside to take some photos and videos of Max in his kart. It's nice and sunny for a change (we all know how rare that is in Britain!) and the perfect lighting for some social media-worthy pictures.

The kart looks really cool as we help Max's Dad pull it out of the trailer and take off the cover.

When Max gets a look in, we ask him to change his own tyre with a Milwaukee Impact Wrench (with parental supervision, of course) and to our surprise, he does it with ease! That's certainly more than we could do at 6...

Next, Max smiles for the camera with one of our TOUGH MASTER tool bags. Stay tuned for more on that later.

03:45pm: Home time!

And after two and a half hours in the sun, Max's visit is over! To send him on his way, we give him a little thank you gift (chocolates and a toy racecar; what else?!), a quick high-five for his time and a goodbye wave.
